Philippe Stark collaborated with Emeco to create a functional, sustainable and beautiful chair called the Broom Chair. For those of you who are not familiar with Emeco, they first manufactured the Navy Chair in 1944 to use on submarines, a chair that is still manufactured and used today! The Navy Chair is guaranteed for life as is the newest addition to the Emeco line, the Broom Chair.
Emeco clearly knows how to create a durable and beautiful chair. Mixing Stark’s modern aesthetic with Emeco’s functionality to create a hybrid of form and function, the Broom Chair is constructed of reclaimed polypropylene and reclaimed wood fibers—a composite called WPP. WPP comes in many vibrant, crisp colors; the reclaimed wood fibers give it a speckled and natural feel for a result that feels substantial.
The Broom Chair is molded as one single element, which creates a structure that’s made to last. All colors can be used outdoors (except the Orange, which you’ll have to save for inside only).
Lastly, the Broom is an affordable chair even for budget-conscious retail projects. List price is $195—not bad for a good-looking chair that is made of reclaimed materials!
We love you, Broom! To read more about the Broom chair, and to see other Emeco products, please check out the website below.
